V-22 Ospreys flying around York

The other day, my father told me he saw an unusual aircraft. Twin tail, loud, and engine pods on the end of the wings. The Osprey was the only thing I could think of that matched the description, but dismissed it as him having a senior moment.

Tonight, I’ve seen at least one Osprey flying at quite a low altitude around the outskirts of York. It appeared to have a search light on the front of it (switched on, with a powerful beam facing downwards)

Does anyone know why we have Osprey flying around here? 🙂
