Hello all, I am curious if V1 kills were credited to pilots in the same way as aircraft kills were. If that was the case who was the highest scoring pilot and what was he flying?
Thanks Paul

V1 kills were counted seperately by the RAF, and didn’t count towards a pilot’s overall tally of aerial victories. The top scoring “V1 killer” appears to have been Sqn. Ldr. Joseph Berry, flying Hawker Tempests with 501 Sqn. He scored sixty-one and a half V1 kills in addition to three earlier conventional air-air victories. He was killed in action in 1944.
