Vampire G-DHZZ

Asked about this one on another thread, but question still remains, does anyone know the current status of this Vampire?

Hi, all. G-DHZZ will be going to Norway in a few weeks. Next week it will have a check up by the FAA, its was bought by a pilot here in Norway. It will be based at Sandefjord Torp Airport, in the hangar with Dakota of Norway.

Will post some pictures of it when it arrives, will be doing a air to air sortie some time in the spring for a photoshute.

If its not one that has found its way to the museum

A very rough guess says that they been stored outside for 4 years.

Heard the owner wanted to much for them and not wanted to sell them cheap.

Shame as they where a real good display team (Once).

G-DHZZ is, as far as I know, still at Bournemouth in open store with about 8 other aircraft.

For how long have they been stored outside?
My limited experience with Vampires tells me that a Vampire likes to be
in a hangar when it is not flying…. Damp wheater and the wooden structure does not go together to well..

Thanks for the info guys. I had heard words to the effect of the sale of this plane. Guess we just have to wait and see.

However, one or two of them have been re-advertised for sale, so it may be on the move shortly.

Is this the one that Sandy Topen was restoring at one point? If so, it is with Air Atlantique, having been sold to them by Don Wood. I did hear a suggestion that the pod had since moved on.
