Their aint many photos of surviving Vampires on here so I thought I would start a thread so we can all post 1 or 2.
I will start with a photo taken at Waddo of XJ771 taxing in to the static on the Friday afternoon.

Brings back fond memories of the Sea Vampire graveyard at Brawdy in the early 1960s, and also of the 3 CAACU machines at Exeter.
I wish someone could persuade one or two of those nice French FB.6s to cross the Channel!

Whoa, thanks Martin!
That shot of her with the tarp is very sweet.
I’ll update my website to include images of her when she was around here and I’ll post up the images.

#35 question.
Mike, according to Watkins’ Vampire book, page 217:
“During the late 1970s these aircraft were fitted with new UHF equipment, which was housed in a pointed nose similar to that of the Venom.”

Cool Martin!
Do you have any shots of U-1226? My father would be much pleased to see them!
Sure 😎
Operational shots I will have to dig out in my storage department – could take a few days….

The CWH Swiss Vampire FB.9. I believe it was J-1145 now in 400 Squ. markings.
This is the second Vampire owned by the CWH. Back in the 1980s the CWH had a non-flying ex-RCAF Vampire 17020/N6863D. It was traded or sold away before the new building was built and static jets were added to the Museum

I have to say, the single-seaters really do look much nicer with the original noses.
Fully agreed !
will have to look up the exact details tonight – bear with me.
In the meantime, a few “original nose” jobs
