Vampire XE995 Parts Search :)

I have been rummaging in the shed, and found the Wing tip Jetison handle and box , and the U/C flaps levers and box,a panel , and a door all from XE995

i remember seeing her years ago at Torbay Aircraft Museum as a child, i would never have dreamed one day owning a piece of her,

I know the cockpit was broken up ,about 8 years ago, and wondered, how far she was spread over the country to date, maybe even the globe, ???

I wonder how many of you own bits of her, ??, panel, canopy, sticks rudder, seats ancilleries, i did notice the throttle box on mr Adlams exellent website, 😀

such a shame what happened to that museum, i only went there once, on holiday as a boy, but its one of my fondest memories, and i got to have a chat with Mr Kieth Fordyce, who at the time ,I never realised who he was..

that is until i hit the age of 16 and became a little mod, and was shown a video of Ready Steady Go.. must have played it for hours.. and was seething i never got his autograph when i had the chance 🙂 😀

Hi, I was the proud purchaser of the Vampire gun fairing 🙂 adding another type to my collection of bits. If the stencilling is correct it’s from T11 XE921.

Vampire jet nozzle

Hi, first time using this forum. I have just bought a jet nozzle for a Vampire. I have been trying to research what it is made from. It is dark brown with the silver cone inside and is about a 70 cm wide by a metre tall. It is a lovely piece of engineering. Any ideas or suggestions where to look. Thanks.

I’ve got its nose leg and a number of other bits (were they the engine frames you passed on to me David?)

One part is about to be delivered to Duxford for the T11 nearing completion there.

Bruce

Yes, they were the ones.

This Vamp has been well recycled. 😀

I bought them, tried hard to stick to Lancaster bits but couldn’t resist and walked out as the proud owner of an airframe 🙂
I recognized the same pride in others carting off a Vampire gun fairing and two Tornado canopy transparencies.

It turned out that the dual GGS amplifiers on their crate that fits on the nose compartment bulkhead were also included – if anyone has a Vampire T11 project missing these I will be happy to move them on 😉

got this fragment of the p/s dv window frame and the wooden bit (where does it fit?), plus the ggs amplifiers on their crate from the nose section 😉

I saw these parts at Newark at the weekend. Were you the seller, or did you buy them?

…. oh yes, and to the point of this thread: I had the engine support framework from this Vampire and passed them onto another project about 2 years ago.

I’ve got one of the sticks. It was a complete column but I haven’t got room so the bottom half went to Shoreham last year and never came back. One plane can indeed go a long way!

The wooden bit is part of the ammo door frame, you can see the bracket for the “bonnet prop” is still attached.
