Hello
I have been given a picture of a Vampire at Greenford, London for Demobbed which is thought to be XK632 . The aircraft was sold 06/01/1972 to Exeter Airport, to Bushey 1983, to 2370 ATC Sqn, Denham, Buckinghamshire, believed scrapped 1998.
What I need if anyone can help is a picture of the Vampire at 2370 ATC Sqn, Denham, Buckinghamshire.
Thank you
Mick Boulanger

I believe the Hunter mentioned in an earlier post by Firebird was(is) WT555 ‘State Express’ . 1st Production Hunter F1 and one time resident at Cosford as part of the RAFM Collection. Did it have BAPC Benchmark status ?

Their address IS Greenford:-
Vanguard Storage Services Ltd, Alperton Lane, Greenford, Middlesex, UB6 8AA
That’s a postal address anonomly that dates back to the 15th Century……when that area became Perivale…..trust me it’s NOT in Greenford……and you’d get some very strange looks and bemusement if you asked any Greenford resident for directions to Vanguard in Greenford…:)
Not that it really matters of course.
And my late Grandfather used to work there back in the 1950’s when it was the Vandervell factory (incl when the Grand Prix cars were made there) and then it was classed as being in Acton 😉

As a Greenford resident, this got me a little curious….
Had a look at your website, and it’s not or wasn’t in Greenford. It was taken at Vanguard’s wharehouse in Alperton.
You can see the nose of the ex-56 Sqn Lightning F.3 that they had aswell. They did have the whole Lightning initially but eventually scrapped the rest and kept the cockpit section. Vanguard also used to have a Hunter as well, which on a few occasions they craned up on top of the roof of the building.
