Variable Pitch Propeller invented in Newark-on-Trent?

Following on from last week’s ‘interesting’ Object of the Week featuring the model of the P.1216 that caused a few comments over on the Military Forum; this week’s Object of the Week on the Newark Air Museum website may also raise a few comments.

The fully working model of this patented variable pitch propeller from 1924 will shortly be going on display at the museum. Has anyone come across such a variable pitch propeller before, so early in British aviation history?
