I was working as a tower controller at EGNT yesterday after passing my exam. One of the pilots give me some stick when i asked him to contact ground, I am aware that the ground is only open in real life at certain times however there was another student controller working with me and we are not qualified to take over a radar position. Were we correct to open the ground or are we not suposed to open it on Vatsim?

Isn’t that covered in your training ? Usually if ground ain’t on the controller asks you to swqk stand-by and taxi to stand of choice if he does;nt wann deal with you after leaving the runway.
