VDM & Junkers prop help!

Hello, I have an information request. I am trying to find Material specifications for VDM & Junkers propeller hubs. I’m specifically interested in the steel used in the hubs & blade adapters/nuts etc. Also any info on the steel & aluminium used in the Oilmotor & transmission on the front of Junkers props. If I could get the spec & tensile strengths that would be great. Feel free to message me if you’d rather not respond in public. Hopefully someone has this info or can point me in the right direction! Thanks in advance.

Jamie.

The BR20 and CR42 that came down in Suffolk during the Battle of Britain were scientifically examined by the RAE Farnborough. The BR 20 was the recipient of 18 reports (EA 31 / 1 – 18) of which only two covered Metallurgical examination of parts. Report EA 31/16 (RAE Materials Dept Report M6385) covered parts of the airscrew assembly whilst EA31/17 (M6538) covered parts of the Fiat A80 RC 41 engine.
The CR42 was subjected to 7 RAE reports with no metallurgical tests other than an examination of the fuels and oil tanks.

This information comes from another RAE report (Library bibliography 312 Published March 1969 Catalogue of Enemy Aircraft Reports)

And before JWP asks there are no identifiable RAE reports on the metallurgy of the Junkers or VDM props, but there are some reports containing nice photos of the component parts.

Thanks for quick response.
A80RC41 was the big brother to the A74. These are the engines that powered the BR-20 and CR-42 that were brought down over the Suffolk coast in November 1940.

The only Italian engine included is a Fiat A80 RC41 from a Fiat BR20 bomber…..whatever one of those is?

From a 1943 book titled ‘A Metallurgical Study of German and Italian Aircraft Engine and Airframe Parts’.

I got my copy from eBay I think; it is full of lovely photographs of aero-engine components from shot-down German and Italian aircraft.
