I would like to advise users of your website never to fly on Qatar Airways.
I originally booked a flight to Delhi and back, one part of which Qatar Airways simply dropped a few days before I was due to fly out. They never contacted me about this as I only learned about it when I phoned their Gatwick number to enquire about an unrelated issue about the flights.
As a replacement flight to the one they dropped (Doha to Gatwick), they put in place a flight that was supposed to fly out 11 hours later than the one originally scheduled. The result being that when I landed in Doha, I was denied a hotel room and had to contend with the dreadful food they give to passengers awaiting transfer in the Doha airport. The reason they gave for this is that the original booking I made never included a hotel room as the original transfer time in Doha was less that 8 hours. However, they, out-of-the-blue, canceled this flight and scheduled another one that was 19 hours after I landed in Doha, way over the 8 hours cut-off-point for a hotel. I tried enquiring about paying for a hotel out of my own pocket, but I was again even denied this information.
The upshot of all this is that I was forced to spend 19 hours staring like a mad thing at the floor of an airport terminal.
I had flown Qatar before this and thought their service was good. However, I, along with numerous friends, work colleagues and relatives to whom I have explained what happened to me, will not use this company ever again after the kind of appalling service I was subjected to. I hope you will agree and that your users should review any flight arrangements they have made now and in the future with this company based on my experience.
In short, stay well clear of this “airline”.

The flights were all with a mixed arabic / Filipino cabin crew, both young and not so young, there was a good mixture,
I would not let one experience put you off, I have used Qatar 6 times now and never had to complain, they are excellent.
A bad flight is bad, but mine was a bit more than what i’d say is ‘bad’… But hey, I don’t want to turn out like the original poster so i’ll leave it at that… 🙂

Out of interest, was the average crew age young?
When I flew MAN-DOH-MAN those flights put me off QTR for good (it’s going to take something amazing to make me fly with them again) and as much as I hate to say it, I think the ‘younger generation’ was to blame.
However, on the DOH-DXB-DOH legs the service was much better. On these sectors the crew were predominately middle aged…

As I thought when I read this post five minutes after it was posted, a complete waste of time. The O.P. has not been back to the Forum after posting his/her one post, that is 36 hours ago.
So you will not get anwers to your questions and the majority opinion is that Qatar is a good airline.

All these events could happen in any airline of the world.
How true…i’ve had at least one or more bad experience with every airline i’ve flown over the years

I recently Flew Qatar from Manchester to Manila Philippines via Doha and return, I would say one of the best airlines I have ever used, service was excellent along with good food and great in-flight entertainment, I would recommend them to anyone.

All these events could happen in any airline of the world. I could fill pages with more appalling experiences. Qatar Airways is still one of the few with five star ratings.

Sound advice from Mr C………….
Mgacourt………..If you are not happy, why not just take up cudgels with the airline?

Welcome to the forum Mgacourt. Maybe this would be a useful place to advise others about your experience-

OK, Qatar Airways dropped the ball on this one and didn’t behave quite as they should have done. Equally so has common sense completely evaded the modern traveller?
If Qatar Airways refuse to give you hotel information, how does that make it the end of the issue? In those circumstances I would have gone out to the arrivals hall, gone up to a hotel desk and enquired with a hotel (rather than an airline that is unlikely to have any hotel information) as to where the closest/best hotel was I could spend my 19 hour layover.
The clever traveller, having enjoyed his 19 hour layover in a nice hotel, would then have sent an email or letter to Qatar Airways with a copy of the invoice from the hotel and an impassionate, accurate depiction of events requesting a refund for the cost of the hotel that Qatar Airways should otherwise have provided for free.
I fail to see the productivity in the masochism of spending 19 hours on an airport floor and then starting a one man campaign against the airline.
Could you have written that in a more patronising way, Mark?

I flew to Doha a few years ago with them and I have to say that in terms of passenger comfort and service they were absolutely brilliant (admittedly I was in business class). When I boarded for the return flight the flight attendant even remembered me from the flight out.
I would fly with them again 🙂

From a moderation point-of-view this does not seem to contavene any of the conditions of the Forum.
Maybe some would like to contribute positive experiences for balance?

However, I don’t really think this is the appropriate place to try to continue your mission to stop people from using a particular airline.
I have to agree, especially as this is your first post here!

mgacourt, although I suspect there is more to this story than meets the eye, I am sorry you have had a bad experience.
However, I don’t really think this is the appropriate place to try to continue your mission to stop people from using a particular airline.
Have you perhaps contacted the airline asking for an explanation?
