Very Cold MAN 14th November Photos

Here are some of the photos I took in MAN on 14th November. Many were taken from the top of the car park as we braved the freezing cold to spot, do a bit of shopping in the hut and wave off a cousin on the Emirates flight in the early afternoon. The following day we flew off to Brussels.

Nice shots Louise. You’re becoming a professional!

I like the Dutch bmi: very unusual!

Thanks everyone. I was very pleased with the selection I got, especially the Zoom and the BA Saab. The only way I managed to get the SkyEurope was behind the BA A319, so I will have to keep hoping to see that one again, as it was my first ever sighting of the carrier. My other airport photos will be posted in my flight reports, as they were photos I took in the departure lounge as we waited to get on our plane. I was extremely pleased with my Brussels spotting, as I bagged my first ever Etihad as it departed for Toronto (it stops in BRU on the way to YYZ from Abu Dhabi and flies in code with SNBA).

I wish I got the chance to spot more often because I just love getting photos of aircraft!

Thanks James. I had tried several times to get a decent shot of the ERJ, the post was in the way for ages, I couldn’t let that one go, as it was a first for me. The hybrid VLM is often at MAN, that’s the second time I’ve seen it there this year. Again, the post often gets in the way when you photograph them because they always seem to park in the same two spots – directly in front of the cafe and one just to the side. The World Tail ERJ was back the following day, and I tried to find it but couldn’t so I had to make do with the photo I posted here.

Thanks for the comments everyone. And thanks for providing the destination of the Saab, bmi-star. The light was very bad that day, so I was doing a bit of experimenting with the flash modes to try and get the best shots I could. The following day, things were much better.

My first Saab 340 in British Airways colours. This aircraft worked for Loganair. No idea where it was going.

VLM’s hybrid OO-VLL “Island of Jersey” flew over our train as we came into the airport station. I did not get chance to bag it straight away, as we had to check into the hotel, but I got it on its return from LCY.

You’re late!!!! SNBA were about an hour late with SN2173 that day. Glad it wasn’t repeated the following day!

Unusual Dutch-registered ERJ145. Believed to be working for bmi, as it was in one of their regular parking spots.
