Very rare in this part of the world!

Came across an extremely rare sight at the local airfield yesterday…

The only airworthy AN-2 in Australia!

Im told by the owner that she is a Polish built example manufactured in 1989, and when shipped to Australia (yes shipped, he assured me they had calculated an over 85 hour flight time to fly her here!) she had done little more than her flight test programme after being built, indeed today the clock reads just over 400 hours TT on the airframe, which would have to make it one of the “newest” AN-2’s around by a fair whack id imagine!

No rush, you could out run it at a brisk walk……. :p

I don’t know if they are zero-houred, but the Moscow Aviation Repair Plant (MARZ) is doing a roaring trade in refurbishing An-2’s….
