Hi Setter and thanx for details….

I am going to get some software which apparently helps, and a card reader…regarding your questions:

1) Was the card inserted properly……yep
2) did you operate the video properly …..a bit hastily perhaps on/off with the excitement
3) Is the camera faulty with another card or just this one….nope it is ok with a new card (just wished Id taken a spare!!)
4) Is the card faulty in another camera (don’t check this till you have the card recovered of your data)….we shall see!

Regards

Tony

Ah yes, the Canberra in Bomber Command 1 scheme. Nice to see something that’s not the usual grey/green (with sharp-edged camo demarcations).

It’s WJ676 now owned by Karl Edmonson, used to belong to Simon Pulford (Phantom Simulator guy) of Chester. Karl is really enthusiastic about his Can and has a collection “bits’n’bumph” to spread out around it which makes it a good exhibit – and a much visited one at Newark. It does stand out in the crowd! WJ676 wouldn’t have worn that scheme but Karl had the paint donated to him by the Bomber Command Assoc and nobody says no to freebies. True the painted-on signs lightning-flash and stencilling on it are a tad larger than life but then Karl’s happy and he’s willing to tug it around the shows at the drop of a hat. That’s the bottom line I guess – happy owner who displays his cockpit. Not too bothered myself in this case (nor in most other cases) as “paint-jobs” on these Cranberry cockpits are all modern, shiny and mostly “representative” in all but a very few cases. I do however, like the fact that owners are generally well involved with their cockpits and willing to stand by them at shows – this is a good thing. Did have a quiet word with Karl though about the red cheat line and the size of the glove and axe symbols. Very understanding guy is Karl. . . 😉

See, no covers on any of these 😀

But no one had to fly them home in 90+ degree heat either!

Did anybody take any photo’s of the ~cockpits~ that attended the COCKPITfest ?

As it happens – yes. Here’s a few for you. It was a good day out, relaxing even, hot though. Didn’t post them on Saturday as Lee w had posted and anyway I expected a flood of Kembly stuff (and the usual arguments that ensue  ).

Hi

Don’t give up on the card just yet there will be some professional geek in the UK who can download the damaged file and cut the good bits. I am sure someone on here or similar sites can help out- Robbo should know someone in the UK that can help out – just don’t experiment with the card till an expert has a look at it.

As to what went wrong – well

1) Was the card inserted properly
2) did you operate the video properly
3) Is the camera faulty with another card or just this one
4) Is the card faulty in another camera (don’t check this till you have the card recovered of your data)

Tell me the answers and I can narrow it down for you.

Iam so annoyed my new HP digi camera (M307) I used to video the two Merlins going at it…..then it displayed an error writing to card and the card now appears corrupted!!!! Argghhhh!! So no vide shots back to wet film…any experts know what went wrong with my SD card?

Back to the thread, my thanx go out to Newark & Flypast for another fantastic event that just goes from strength to strength. Bill O Sullivan of NAM and Ken Ellis did a fantastic job. I would also like to thank the ladies who made the saturday buffet and gave us such good hospitality and of course the Merlins were fantastic!!! Thanx also to the enthusiasts who came and chatted to us….that is what it is all about!
