Veteran Ben Warren

Wonder if there’s some help to be had?

I’ve been asked to see if there’s any info out there on an American fighter pilot called Ben Warren. As is usually the case, trying to get to the facts is hard, but I think the following is the core story:

Flew for the Americans in three wars – W.W.II, Korea, and Vietnam. Apparently flew in the Battle of Britain, and he said he’s flown Spitfires, Mustangs and Hurricanes (the latter would seem likely in the Battle, and could put him in an Eagle Squadron).

So – can someone please see if he’s listed in any of the Battle of Britain fact books? Does anyone have any other info on someone of this name in these theatres? (I guess we can assume Europe with the W.W.II USAAF).

Many thanks in advance!

I checked with an ex eagle sqdn pilot, he has never heard of a Ben Warren but came up with an Indian from Oklahoma, Name of Danny Gilmore who was in the RCAF as a sergeant and became an eagle sqdn member, ended up in Viet Nam as a major in the USAF.

I thought you once had an MGB 😉

I’ll check out Frank Gover’s book and see if he gets a mention.
