VHF communication on a De Havilland Mosquito

I’m trying to find out what a Mosquito pilot – using his R/T – had to do when he needed to make verbal contact with crews of accompanying aircraft. Did he do it via his oxygen mask radio but switched to a VHF channel instead of the intercom, or, was it some kind of separate hand-held device/microphone? My best guess is the oxygen mask…

In hopeful anticipation, Mick.

All talk was via the mask mic, the intercom was integral, so the nav could hear everything and had to shut up when necessary.
