Does anyone know the answer to this question that was posed in the November 1995 issue of New Zealand Wings magazine? I have not found any subsequent reply to the query.

The end of the museum at Cardiff-Wales was on the cards for along while –
we lost nothing particularily significant and it should have been a lesson to
museums that acquiring aircraft and leaving them outside with no desire to
hangar them is just a slow death.

From what I remember, that museum had a reputation for their repainting into fictitous or irrelevant markings and serial numbers etc…. Probably the case here. One of the saddest tales in the UK Aviation Museum archives……
