I have been going through my hard drive recently and found these photographs I took at Brooklands when the Vickers Vimy replica was retired.
I thought I would share them please feel free to comment. I was new to the DSLR then so shots not perfect by any means, but hopefully capture the moment.

Those are lovely, and it’s especially nice to see one of my favourite odd aircraft alongside as well – long live G-PIGY.
I think I only saw the Vimy in the air once, but I remember watching open-jawed as it progressed its stately way across the sky – like watching a galleon in full sail.

Great stuff Martin, I love the third pic and the sepia head-on shots especially. Perhaps one day she’ll fly again? Who knows…
It would be lovely if she flew again, there is something special about a biplane of its size flying.
Thanks for all the kind comments everyone.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for showing off your pictures, I really like the fourth picture with that terrific lighting.
Cheers,

Nicely done, Martin. Great pictures – thanks for sharing. The Vimy might be a replica, but it’s great to see a golden oldie like that take to the air. Gives me hope that we may see a Mosquito over British skies again.
TTFN,
Neil

Great shots, perfect framing. Another moment in history recorded visually and stored for us to see. Thanks for sharing Martin. 🙂
