Interesting use of military aircraft as fine art – although it looks like other people did most of the hard graft for artist Fiona Banner…

I loved the displays, but I can’t believe she allowed them to be scrapped after the exhibition 🙁

Very mixed feelings when I watch that clip. 22 years of my life there

Good little video, I did wonder how the beautiful polished effect was achieved with the Jaguar, and how the aircraft were erected in the display space.
It would be niave to think that Fiona did all the heavy work on these projects herself and at least the film shows that others were involved.
It’s probably an unpopular view here, but I do actually like what she achieved with these aircraft, it is obvious that she has a deep seated passion for aircraft going back to her younger days. I certainly can’t knock someone who was able to go out and buy a complete Sea Harrier & Jaguar (of which there are many about and available) and then work and display them into something different and thought provoking – whether we like it or not.
My only beef was that the complete aircraft were never retained for preservation after the display, certainly the Jaguar would have looked very impressive, I wonder if Fiona could have been more pro-active about that.
As an aside my ops manager flew ‘Buster Gonad’ in GW1.
