There is a clip here of the latest THAAD test of a while back. It appears to be a bit more agile than before and it looks like they did an extra corkscrew to bleed off energy vs the previous launches.

When they are testing at White Sands, NM they have to do the manuever to bleed off energy so the missile will stay within the range (even so the range isn’t small).

Pretty cool, very impressive maneuverability there. What are they doing that corkscrew for, right after launch? Just as a test/demonstration?
