Welcome back Kabir and Steve.
Haven’t flown with VN, but would be happy to – Viet Nam is on my list of “must visit”. Their website is quite interesting.

Welcome back lads. Hopefully “the Melbourne two” won’t find reason to leave again, at least not for a long time.:D

ah now that i didnt know…cheers GD1.

No, I think there was a substantial population around Berlin, or enough to sustain flights anyway around the early 1990s. The flight I was thinking about was a special charter for a Vietnamese special event, taking the European Vietnamese population home for it and also part of a trial flight.
I also think Vietnam is a growing German tourist destination but either way it will be good for European growth.

Probably quite a large Vietnamese population in the area compared to Frankfurt? If I remember rightly MIAT also flew into Berlin from Ulaan Bator for similar reasons?

ya…isint that good enough to take an airline to FRA intead of Berlin?

Vietnam is looking for European expansion. Berlin is one of the destination I believe.

I stand corrected. I had never seen them in SYD, so I just assumed they didn’t fly there. A few more Euro destination will do them good, then they can steal traffic away from TG, SN and CX.

posted originally by greekdude1:
They need to expand their customer base first, and then begin routes to Europe and Australia/New Zealand.

Europe: They have got Paris and MOSCOW?
Australia: Sydney and Melbourne

Their Asian network is quite impressive
