View as I left work today

This is the view that I saw in the mirrors of my car as I left work today.

Looks like a very weird and unique aircraft.

Fairly easy, but what, where, why???

Here is a composite panoramic of the site before it was all moved about. Sorry about the “curviness”. Must have a word with the software gremlins or read the manual.

Here are some pics from Brooklands about a month ago. I was having an “artistic” fit. Thanks to the guys for showing me around the VC-10. I will get the interior photos sorted.

A couple more.

Last one shows the Varsity, Viscount, Vanguard and VC10 in the old car park. Just have to wait for the Viking, BAC 1-11 and Concorde and the line-up will be complete.

If you insist then, CL5.

Here are some pics of the VC10 moving across the bridge into Brooklands Museum.

A couple of pics of the Vanguard and VC10 on the runway for the last time, and the Vanguard being taken over the bridge today:

Guess you had been to see Sony, so this may be the new DVD camcorder? 😀

How dare you call it French!!!

Yep. Its the Vanguard with the VC10 about 10 foot behind it, at Brooklands. The Vanguard was pulled out to the runway last Saturday when it made its last ever taxi runs, and the VC10 was pulled that onto the runway yesterday. Both aircraft are sitting on the runway, where they first few 43 and 40 years ago respectively, for the last time. Today the Varsity and Viscount were moved into the carpark with the Vanguard planned for tomorrow and VC10 maybe Sunday, but more likely to be Monday, (although the plan does seem to change every two minutes). The Concorde from Filton is due to arrive Saturday afternoon/evening, so the museum will be open late.

Interesting few days.
