Viewing Area's at MAN

Does anyone know about the viewing areas on the opposite side of Manchester Airport. Having been a few times, I know about the Aviation Viewing Park (Why don’t all airports have something like this??) and the Airport Pub which is just off the threshold of 24R. However i’ve seen plenty of photo’s and video’s around the landing area on 6R and the holding point for 24L, does anyone know how to acces these areas by car, is it just a trek through the woods or is there an official area, I remeber there used to be before the 2nd runway was put in but I though it was closed!
