Perhaps people would like to give their recommendations for the best places to view the flypast next week ?
I’m told there is a cafe close to the Orwell bridge which is a good place, especially if you also want something to eat and drink.
When I last viewed a flypast, it was from a layby just to the north of Chelmsford on the A130.
I am wondering if the Park and Ride might be a good location, or is that a little too far north ?
Anyone ?

Ok here are a list of good vantage points the flight will be directly above or within a quarter of a mile ish to you
from BOREHAM Essex
Writtle
>>>>(HYLANDS PARK should be a good vantage point if you stand and face towards Chelmsford city center they pass just NW but not overhead)
Highwood
Blackmore
Stondon Massey
Kelvedon Hatch
Navestock Side
Hainault
Fairlop Waters
Barkingside
Wansted
Leyton
Hackney Marshes
Stratford
City of London
Buck House
Please remember you will need a good view around as the list above is going to be close but nearer London you get the lower they will go so a horizon will be needed low
Please do not blame me if you miss it I just used a pen and paer on a map form Buck House to Boreham Essex two known points.

I’m taking a walk up the Regents Canal from Limehouse. Should pass just about over Victoria Park, and there are one or two good pubs locally for refreshments!

Shame the formation splits up early, would been much easier to go to Northolt or somewhere nearby.
Wouldn’t see a lot from there as it’s not taking the same route as the usual Trooping Flypasts.
Formations has to split quickly after the Mall to cater for the speed differentials of the differing formation elements/types, which is not normally a consideration for Trooping or even back in 1990 for the 50th BoB mass formations, when we had large groups of Jags, Phantoms, Tonkas, Bucc’s, plus Nimrods/VC10/Victors/Canberra’s and the like that could all maintain the same relative speeds in formation.
I’m considering myself lucky that the largest of the elements will be flying right over my place of work and I’ll get to see some of it at least.

For a roof top drinkypoo in central London, the coq d’argent in Poultry Lane (financial city) has a roof top garden and good views across the bank district – reckon would be a good spot for lunch and the flypast should be cracking from there.
(used to drink there occasionally in my younger days and is pretty much directly over the tube station at Bank)

I am heading to a customers of my work in Battersea then walk up to the river. I’m more interested in seeing it rather than photos. Shame the formation splits up early, would been much easier to go to Northolt or somewhere nearby.

I might be able to get up to Central London on Tuesday. Not seen a flypast there before but, looking at the line of the route, I thought the South Bank, with a view across the Thames towards Somerset House, seemed a possible viewing point. I’m less concerned about photography but it’s just about the width of the river from the line of flight and one would not be looking into the sun.
Thoughts? Comments? Past experience? Anyone?

it basically crosses the railway line at Boreham so park and ride perfect.
Hatfield Peverel station is perfect they fly just about a quarter of a mile NORTH of the station
Blackmore is also good I think Somewhere like Ingatestone may also be good
They use the same track every year I have seen them

My flat in Ipswich! The last lot flew right past my kitchen & living room windows. I could clearly see the tacky RAF 100 symbol on the tail of the Voyager!
