Been reading a certain PC Gaming magazine and it would appear that the Vimy is going to re-create the Atlantic flight this june !!!
I havent seen the latest Flypast / Aeroplane, is anything mentioned in these ? Have you heard about this proposed flight ?

Yet another engine change it would seem. Chevrolet got out because of product liablity fears.
I seem to recall that it was actually BMW that wanted out because of product liability and that they tried to block its last flight with court orders. Were it not technical problems with the Chevrolet engines which brought about the change to BMW’s?

Daft as it may sound, there’s some nice footage of the Vimy to be found on the the ‘Star wars-Episode 2’ DVD, as it’s featured quite heavily in the soundtrack-they show a sound guy recording it on a low pass, distant pass, stuff like that.
It ended up as some speeding, flying thing in a noisy chase sequence-I think it sounder nicer to start with, no matter what make engines they were!

Good luck to them. Saw the original in the Science Museum a few weeks ago and I wouldn’t fancy crossing a puddle in it.
