Vimys

It says in flypast the RAf museum are to move the Vimy replica into the Graham White hangar. Has it been restored allready? Last time I saw it in December half the roof was missing and the front doors and runners were nowhere to be seen.

I wonder what the plans for the hangar are, will it be sealed like the RAf Museum itself, or will they open and close the doors, like a normal hangar? Will they fill it with tacky signs and piped music? Or any chance of keeping the smell of oil and leather intact that should be there (how on earth did they purge the lovely smell in the main building?)to keep the atmosphere?

Last time I was in there I noticed the offices built into the wall. Any idea if they will be used?

RE: Vimys

Can’t answer your questions mate, but no doubt the moving of the Vimy will give them all the excuse they need to further drag the Lancaster left, right and centre, if not putting the whole thing in a cardboard box marked ‘not very important anymore’.
