Vince Hemmings RIP

It’s a name that probably means little if anything to many here, but Vincent ‘Vince’ Hemmings passed away last week after a massive stroke.

Vince was one of the very early members of Duxford, when it was the East Anglian Aviation Society there, worked at British Aerospace Missile and Space Division for many years, was a member of the British Aviation Preservation Council and for many years the Curator of the Tower Museum at Bassingbourn – and through that office, a contact with the 91st Bombardment Group (H). I believe he was also chairman of the SVAS at one time.

He was also my friend.
