Vintage bomber flypast

If there was to be a flypast featuring important RAF bombers through history which aircraft in your opinion would be in the formation?

Several B-58s and B36s would do for me

TSR-2 Mk.1
TSR-2 Mk.11
TSR-2 Mk.111
TSR-2 T.3

and err, a Mk.1 Short Stirling chugging along behind.

Sorted.

I forgot to include, leading the formation, an Avro.730. It’s not THAT much of a fantasy either. But for a bunch of short-sighted, inept, criminally incompetent, utter and complete MORONS (no offence) And equally short-sighted, in the historical context, cretinous nonentities (no offence) THIS and so many greater glories would have been ours for the taking.
We NEED a Churchill, we GET a Cameron. Nuff sed.

Didn’t they do that over London in 1940 and 41?

I’m a little surprised there has been no mention of ‘it’.

Does post #13 cover it?

I do like your thinking pagen, but not quite.

Obviously it’s the TSR. 2!

Well done J Boyle! Although now it’s name has been mentioned how long before this thread becomes another ‘How wonderful an aircraft it was’ thread…? :p

As I said, it was mentioned way back at post #13;)

TSR-2 Mk.1
TSR-2 Mk.11

Wasn’t the TSR2 a wonderful aircraft?

(I make that 26 minutes, give or take.)

I’m a little surprised there has been no mention of ‘it’.

You know the aircraft that is always mentioned when there is talk of the best bomber, if not aircraft of all time.

I thought the Tonka had been mentioned!:D

Surely, you’re not referring to the ultimate…

Despite, technically, not really qualifying.

But realistically to keep us all happy I’d like:

a vic of Hampden, Whitley, Wellington lead by a Blenheim Mk1
followed by: Stirling, Halifax, Lancaster lead by a pathfinder Mossie.

Not sure in which reality you are living, but it sounds nice and wish I was there!:)

Formation flights

I would like to see a Balbo style formation of BBMF Lancaster with a Spitfire and Hurricane as her “little friends” in the lead, and the second element consisting of “SallyB” with an escort of P51D Mustang and P47 Thunderbolt.

This is surely not an impossibility

Arec there any other suggestions ?

My 1st choice:

0/400
Halifax
Victor

Not an Avro in sight! 🙂

But realistically to keep us all happy I’d like:

a vic of Hampden, Whitley, Wellington lead by a Blenheim Mk1
followed by: Stirling, Halifax, Lancaster lead by a pathfinder Mossie.

Postwar its got to be: Valiant, Victor, Vulcan

Handley Page Victor B.2
