Vintage planes on Australia's eastcoast

Hello,
during last november took vacation there and recently completed a webpage “Cairns to Sydney” which includes photos and text on Cairns and vicinity, air museums at Caloundra and Caboolture as well as Sydney-Bankstown.
http://www.ruudleeuw.com/oz2005.htm
Am working on part 2: Sydney to Melbourne, which will include HARS/Albion Park, RAN Nowra museum, DC-2 at Albury, warbirds at Wangaratta, DC-3 s at Melbourne and air museum Moorabbin; will take a few more days.
The holidays (part aviation, part tourist) had only 20 days available so I have no hope to have a complete survey here but it does deal with the highlights. And one always needs a reason to go back again for more…
cheers
Ruud

Ruud ,

I have some more information on the Mig 15 which you saw at Nowra. It is one of two owned by a company called Air Combat Australia , and is used for experience flights. The registration is VH-EKI.

You can find details of the company and its aircraft here :-

Thanks. Pity I had to rush along for a bit, couldn’t plan any air shows or other air activity with these museums.
At the moment working on “page 2”: Sydney to Melbourne; will post an update when that is completed.
Cheers

Some good stuff there Ruud. It’s surprising what is tucked away in the smaller museums in Oz and I look forward to seeing what you unearthed at Bankstown.
