Fantastic day of flying in Gatineau on Saturday, thought I’d share a few shots. The Corsair flew in her new colours for the first time, it was also the first flight for the pilot.

There are only two open houses scheduled at Vintage wings this year the next one will be for the Battle of Britian Weekend Sept. 20th. there should be some interesting aircraft available for that one.
The intent was to keep things low key this year in anticipation of events in 2009 the 100th anniversary of flight in Canada. However their airshow schedule looks fairly busy.
I like the idea that they aren’t airshows it gives a more relaxed flavour and lets you talk with the pilots about their experiences.
This was Paul Kissman’s first flight in the Corsair, I hesitate to say solo as how else can you check out in a single seat fighter. He seemed to have little problems mastering this beast. Mind you he is a graduate of the Empire Test Pilots School in Boscombe Down, England.
This weekends event at CWH in Hamilton should bring some of that flavour back.

Yes the Hamilton Airshows were great….The CWH Corsair was a very popular feature of that event…

Yes it was a beautiful day indeedy at the Gatineau Airport. Quite a few fly-in visitors added to the event.
Beech D18C and Fairy Firefly (luv the sound of that RR Griffon) were bought in from CHWM. 🙂
And the Corsair was flown twice on Saturday (while I was there). Quite a treat for those that waited.
