Love the new TV ad. Must admit that my onetime regular Monday Morning commute from LBA to LHR was a much improved experience when Virgin Cabin crew were deadheading in their figure-hugging scarlet uniforms and shoes (steady – where’s my heart medicine :diablo: ).
Thank you Ladies and Congratulations SRB 🙂 .

I didn’t think Qantas ever had any 100’s in their fleet…123 is definitely not a QF aircraft
B747-123 c/n 20108 was delivered to American Airlines as N9669 and was registered to QANTAS as VH-EEI on 8/2/1988.
It entered service with Air Pacific, still as VH-EEI, on 1/4/1988.

Me, too. Inflight Entertainment was great, but seat pitch food etc…. was really bad also on both flight my luggage did not arrive.
So my experience with VS was not as good, maybe I will give them another try in a few years.
Flew VS LHR-NRT & back over New Year. Same as you, except for the luggage, which was on the carousel pretty damn quick. Seat pitch not great, food so-so, service not great. My partner was not impressed, & reckoned she knew why it was the cheapest non-stop UK-Japan. Landings were smooth, though, & the in-flight entertainment system was pretty good.

The first 2 were G-VIRG and G-VGIN and were ex-Aerolineas Argentinas and ex-Alitalia. I am not aware of any Virgin aircraft ever having been ex-Qantas.
Any word on the company wires of another special birthday livery Wys ?

The word plagiarism comes to mind
Or just a very clever marketing gimmick…;)

And now a more serious one (note the similarity to the old BA ad that has already been posted!):

I have to agree Lawstud. I flew with VS last year between LHR-LAX whilst on my trip to Hawaii. Both flights were on Airbus A340-600 type aircraft; outbound flight was in old config and I thought that was great, but inbound flight had new config, which I really didnt like.
As for airline TV ads (what a great thread idea!), how about a few of these:

(Perhaps Ryanair could learn a few more tips of how to rip-off pax from this ad!:D:diablo:)
And also how about two from Silverjet…
First up, quite a funny one: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ErWwNyzQS-A&feature=related

Was only a matter of time before the 1989 BA Ad was brought up.
Splendid stuff that

Very good ad and enjoyed the nostalgic theme a lot. However I was distinctly underwhelmed by VS when I flew with them in 07.

Off-topic:
Did anybody here has heard the rumor of VS getting A330s ?

The new Qantas A380 TV ad is pretty good too, I just spotted it on TV minutes ago. Somwehat reminiscent of the days when BA would advertise their new ‘Concorde’ services…
Yeah I saw it the other day, another great Ad…
Let the trend continue!
Has anyone seen EK’s new add? I thought that was rather nice too.
EDIT: Not that new apparently (all though i’ve only ever seen it once, and that was this month).

I think it sells Dubai more than EK, but great none-the-less. (Or maybe that was the idea, they’re many quotes out there saying, ‘The future of EK is Dubai, and the future of Dubai is EK’.

A good mate (no interest in aviation) of mine was going on about this ad now I can see why.
Great stuff:cool:
