Virgin Sun was taken over by Air 2000(Now first choice airline) about 2 years ago I think! It was a nice airline and the colour scheme was fab–yellow fuselage ,red engines.Shame we didnt ever get to fly with them as many people were impressed with them.

Yes, a Sun can’t last all day. It ahs to go under sometimes. It’s doomed with a name like that.

VEX is now fianlly making profit, a few years ago Richar Branson considered shutting the place down.

Thanks very much for the link Jethro. A friend phoned me up this afternoon to tell me the news but I hadn’t been able to find it anywhere online. This is the news I have been waiting for and hope to get a course date fairly shortly. I will still have a 3 month notice period to serve out though.

Most of Virgins recruitment will come from the charters with a very small number of ex-RAF tanker-VVankers. The low cost pilots will probably replace us at the charters and the regional pilots will fill the low cost vacancies. Basically everybody takes one step to the right!

Good news indeed, this should leave some space at the locos and regionals as people like wys move into long haul! Maybe, just maybe I’ll find a job!!!
