Virgin Blue has been granted permission to fly internationally from Australia. A Virgin Blue spokesperson said the Federal Depatrment of Transport’s International committee yesterday gave them the green light to start flights to Fiji, Vanuatu and New Zealand. But Virgin Blue would not release details about the international flights.
Virgin Blue havn’t announced which destination they were most likely to go to first or when they will be doing it.

I suspect New Zealand would be a new prioritised destination due to Virgin Blue’s dissatisfaction at the proposed lack of competition across the Tasman. Would such destinations as Singapore, Bali or even some of the other Pacific islands be possible also or are the rights to such destinations already taken?
