Virgin Blue to get first A330s from EK

Virgin Blue Airlines in March 2011 will take delivery of two used Airbus A330-200 aircraft from Emirates ( A6-EAB, EAC). Two brand new A332s will join the fleet in late 2011. The airline expects to operate these aircraft on domestic services.

A6-EAB will be the first A330, believe it’s in Dubai all white at the moment.

A6-EAC i’ll be glad to see the Back of that particular Aircraft! Every time it comes into NCL it has some sort of Problem!

The sooner the entire A330 fleet has gone, the better. In terms of comfort and facilities on board, the A330 is disappointing, especially when compared to the newer 777-300ER and A380 aircraft.

I flew A6-EAL in late October and it was a disappointing experience; ageing interior, the tiniest of personal TV screens (without the on-demand facility, but complete with an archaic collection of games), faulty tables and a countless number of faulty seats, which were stuck in the recline position.

Returning to the UK a few weeks later, I was first flying on a 777-300ER (A6-EGA, one of the newer 777s) followed by an A380 (A6-EDK, the newest at the time). It felt like I was flying a completely different airline!

Interesting! Id have thought Virgin Blue would Buy Brand New! Especially if there going to use them to take on QF on Domestic routes in Austrailia! Nothing wrong with the A330 as such its just these two like all of EK A330’s have been very well used there old and Tired on the insides, Im guessing they will need allot of work done to them.
