Florida Dude BA are going to ur head. Your first version about Virgin beating BA’s charisma etc was correct!

You must be on commission.
By: Florida Dude - 25th June 2003 at 19:43
sorry I meant to say that Virgin WOULD NOT be able to beat BA’s charm, charisma etc
By: Florida Dude - 25th June 2003 at 19:41
Virgin have always made BA look really bad. But if you notice BA never strikes back, there’s no silly advertisement campaigns and no outgoing TV adds because they know and we know that that virgin would be able to beat the charisma and history, charm etc that is British Airways. Also I doubt if BA went bankrupt the government and the royals would like to be seen leaving a plane saying ‘Virgin Atlantic’, not very British me thinks.

Any thing to make BA look bad!
By: greekdude1 - 25th June 2003 at 17:58
So he just went off and put it on the A346, mind you very makeshift as it just looks like a sticker with white background. Brilliant!
By: robc - 25th June 2003 at 17:49
He promised that he wouldnt put that slogan up on the concorde itself
By: greekdude1 - 25th June 2003 at 17:26
In the AirlinerWorld article, did Sir Richard not ‘promise’ BA that he wouldn’t put, “BA couldn’t keep it up,” on his aircraft? I just saw a VS A340-600 with makeshift “Concorde, BA couldn’t keep it up” titles on it.

Yeah now Branson is trying to look like the nice guy and BA look bad bye saying if they wont sell the concords to us no matter what at least create a fund to keep them flying at airshows

I agree there, it doesn’t seem logical, but we haven’t heard Airbus backtracking on their inital statement that they were refusing to support concorde any further.
However as usual it has become very political, and we are probably not being fed the whole truth.

Good point EGNM. Very good point.

I can’t see Airbus upsetting Virgin too much – too lucrative a risk, with the possablilty of further A380/346 orders!
By: Mark L - 23rd June 2003 at 17:45
I think I’ve confused myself in this Concorde issue, but hasn’t Airbus refused to support Concorde after October?
If so then how does Branson propose to keep them going with out their help?
By: Florida Dude - 23rd June 2003 at 16:44
Virgin already know they won’t get them, if BA went bankrupt then maybe, but in the mean time they’ll make BA as being the ‘bad guys’ (they always are with Virgin) in an attempt to scrounge more passengers to fly his airline and not fly BA.
BA are easily able to knock back £5million with £1.87 billion of cash reserves and plenty more available with more time. BA could buy BMI (£880 million) tommorow and still have money left over.
😉 😎

I dont think it matters what amount of money Branson offers, BA will still Snub him.
