And? Despite the fact that SS1 has already flown, Dickie Branson has shown his enthusiasm towards this project alot over recent years, so he will pour money at it until it flies….

Probably (I stand to be correct) because no one here will ever get then chance to ride it, it’s still a very pie in the sky concept with no real tangible evidence it will work. Certainly not without bankrupting anyone foolish enough to want to buy a ticket for 12 minutes of weightlessness. I’m pretty sure you can lease the “Vomit Comet” A300 or 727 for a lot less!

In short, I don’t think many care to subscribe to another PR stunt by beardy Branson.

id heard that his eventual aim would be to bring the price down to around £30k a flight?

i forsee that this really being the first service of its type ever, it’ll be seen in the same light that aviation was in the early 1900’s

An expensive and gentlemanly passtime.

in 80 years i forsee it being a major business and a method of travel 🙂

Quite normal for something like this to take a long time. Add in the Beardy factor and this is not at all an unreasonable amount of time. Remember the A380 unveiling? Lightshows, ballet, national anthems, presidents and monarchs… it can always be worse. 😉

Yeah, we could be at the UN conference in Copenhagen!

Let’s keep this one alive, don’t you guys out there wish you could go into orbit? Gee, if they want volunteers for a manned spaceflight to Pluto without the possibility to return I would be first on the list to get outta this crazy place. (Provided I could take my kid with me). They spoke about sending families on one way trips for space exploration on BBC the other day, Dr Karl I think. Branson is on a winner here, too bad you have to be in the top ten earners to afford it.:D

Was the ceremony 52 minutes long? How long will a flip take?
