Had a chat with the technical director in Lagos the other week. They want to expand the A320 operation but there are no available A320’s due to demand. Consequently they are soon to take delivery of the first of seven 737-300’s. It is already painted up and awaiting delivery. The aircraft is ex-Frontier Airlines however the remaining six are all late models (consecutive construction numbers I believe) from easyJet. The A320’s will stay at least for the short term until the 737’s arrive in reasonable numbers. The long haul operation remains A340-300 with at least 3 more airframes bing transferred from Virgin Atlantic over the next few months.
