Ive just read a thread on the A.net forums, that this week (expected on the 15th) Virgin is to Unveil a Special livery on Boeing 747-400 G-VFAB to celebrate their 21st Birthday?
Apparently G-VFAB is at AMS receiving the new livery?
Anyone (ian) shed any light on this, whether it be true or not?
Cheers.
Any Ideas from Sandy perhaps?

Just routed through AMS on the way home from work, the Varga Girl is on the rear fuselage trailing the flag which runs into the tail – didn’t look too exciting really – but it was from a distance!

The plane will leave Schiphol SUNDAY at 14:15 local time with flight number VS812P. Considering it is a one hour flight It should arrive at Heathrow at around 14:15 local time.

Hi all
It is true, G-VFAB is due to emerge on the 15th in a special 21st Birthday colour scheme featuring a giant Varga girl on the rear fuselage.
Cheers
Nick
Have had an email that the plane has left the hangar, but is still at AMS. Since AMS is littered with photogs with airside access it is safe to assume that the first photos will be online soon. Have not seen it myself, weather permitting I’ll visit AMS tomorrow and hopefully catch her.

Varga Girls – refer to pinup artwork by Alberto Vargas. If you do a google search for him you can see examples of his work. The one on that Virgin use on the side of their aircraft date’s back to WWII I think.
Actually I think I saw a thread on another forum which related the Virgin Varga to the actual original upon which it was based from a 2nd world war, USAF Lightning?

Is a “Varga girl” the girl on the nose of Virgin planes ?
I bet Bhoy will want one with a picture of Varga’s girl on the back? 😀
Maybe a “Back the Bid” model featuring Craig Bellamy, eh Matthew… ? :dev2:
