Hi,
Just been reading Sky News Active and as I scowered down the business list I found this interesting article,
Quote Sky News
“Sir Richard Branson is reportedly considering starting up a low-cost airline based in the United States.
He has been in talks with new California governer Arnold Schwarzenegger to negotiate the possibility of starting up the airline in Los Angeles.
Sir Richard Branson has had plans for a new start up for several months.
It would be called Virgin USA, and create 1,500 jobs.
Final plans for the venture are expected within six weeks.
According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, Sir Richard wrote to the actor this week. saying “We are considering LA within our plans”.
The pair met earlier this year on the film set of Jackie Chans new movie, Around the world in 80 days, which thay had small rolls. Other suggested bases for the airline have been Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Miami.
A spokesman confirmed the two had met and said Schwarzenegger encouraged Sir Richard ” to bring more jobs to California”.
No-one was immediatly available at Virgin for comment.”

Well, it’s not exactly as shocker but news is news. I believe one of the reasons why Virgin has’nt already started up a new airline is because they are not allowed to own a majority share in any new venture as they are not an US companie, they where in talks with Atlantic Coast Airlines (just a rumour don’t even know if they exist).
