Virtual Airlines – Flight Simulation

I am sure that everybody in this forum shares a keen interest in aviation.

My own interest in this topic led me and my colleagues to establish a virtual airline (VA) a little over twelve months ago.

What is a virtual airline? Will simply put myself and my colleagues use flight simulation software (Primarily Microsoft Flight Simulator) to fly routes, in aircraft, to timetables very much in the manner of real world airlines. i.e we pretend we are “pilots”! We even have our very own aircraft liveries. The timetables we use we have created ourselves but are heavily based on the real world airlines.

Why do we do this? Well for fun mainly but we also enjoy varying degrees of realism. It is up to you if you want to fly with real weather downloaded from the internet, use our flightplans or even use additional software to simulate the cabin annoucements. Very few rules at all!

My own VA is not the only one in operation. At a guess there are probably nearly 1000 VA’s around the world.

If this sounds fun or you are curious then you can visit the website for my VA at
