Hello All,
Cap in hand once more (I know this is becoming regular).
Im wondering if anybody has examples of advertising featuring the Vickers Viscount that they can share with me. Scanned images or photocopies are more than welcome.
Im interested in seeing anything used by Vickers to market the aircraft but also the adverts used by airlines featuring the aircraft.
Many thanks in advance
Martin

I have a copy of the Channel Airways 25 year anniversary Brochure, which features Viscounts on 3 of the pages, I can either scan them for you, or you can ask Gooney Bird for an original as he has 1 or 2 stashed away (gently selling them on eBay!)
Also has a photo of my Grandfather on the centre pages!

Try these – only one is a Viscount, but in my opinion they’re great art work
Too big for here, but I have the scans at 2.9Mb each – if anyone wants please PM me
…and I’ve probably got the original pages somewhere too !

That Capital Airlines ad is neat.
And for those of you who have never flown into Washington (now Reagan) National…yes, you can really see the D.C. landmarks (like the U.S. Capitol building shown) from the airport.
BTW: I saw BBC world News yesterday and in the coverage of the Gerald Ford funeral, they managed to call the building the “U.S. Senate”. Wrong. The senate is the higher house of congress, and it housed there, but the building itself is the Capitol. I would have expected better from their Washington correspondent.

Cheers Neil.
Its Very much the colour ones that interest me. The style of the paintings is cracking. They seem to have so much more character than the slickly produced advertising we have today.

Are there any current Viscount restorations in the UK at the moment? By chance does anyone know if the RAE Viscount cockpit is restored and internally complete at Brooklands?
