Is it just the south east, or is the whole country getting very clear air conditions this summer, when it is not raining ?
I can not recall any hazy days for many months, perhaps because the sky is getting ‘washed’ almost every day, not to mention the high winds which seem to have been with us since the spring. Where are the stable, high pressure systems?
Not good for those of us who fly very light aeroplanes, getting bounced all over the sky. Must be even more frustrating for the hot air balloonitics.

Went to Popham yesterday for the Auster Fly-In and on the way home in the afternoon, you could see for literally miles and miles. Don’t think have seen it so clear for ages…only problem was that it was extremely bumpy all the way back!!

Can’t believe the glorious spell of weather we have been enjoying.
Last week barely a cloud in the sky en route to the 90th anniversary of flying at North Coates Vintage Wings and Wheels event.
Yesterday another unbelievable day of perfect vis. routeing to delightful Perranporth and then homeward via Belle Vue and ‘Auster Heaven’ – can’t be a more picturesque and colourful airfield than Eggesford, but mind how you go on that ski jump runway – vairy interesting! 😉
Both the Needles and Beachy Head were clearly evident from miles away.
Safe and happy flying. 😀

Did it go well? I was flying yesterday and I was also thrown about quite a bit. I’ve been attempting to do a solo trip to Cambridge for several weeks now, but the weather has thwarted me on every occasion. 🙁
Passed over Cambridge last evening, beautifull views, extremely good viz but it felt like I was flying with the concrete tie down blocks still attached! Very bumpy, but it’s been like that for a while now.
