Hi All,
Last week I visited the Potugues Air Force with a group. We visited several air bases. Any comments are always welcome.

Hi all,
Thanks for the comments, I am glad you liked the pics. A few thinks the clear up;
– The Cessna are all WFU but some frames are used for training purposes. A bit similar like the FIAT G-91 or Gina’s as they call them.
– Cessna 13713 and one other are being prepared for delivery to Mozambique.
– It was a genuine spotters trip. Photography in the hangers was limited and we were not allowed to visit the “factory”. We were under constant guard but quite a lot was allowed and out hosts were very cooperative.
– there is only one P-3P still active (14805) the rest are ex Dutch P-3C which will be upgraded tot a P-3C CUP+ standard
– For the DCH-1s someone was telling that they wanted to keep them for a 100 years. Not sure if it is true but a great story anyway
– Yeah typo’s, guilty as well I’m afraid, in abundance
Bye, Pieter

Fantastic pics thanks for sharing, nice to see a variety of older types still in use and love the ‘Vietnam style’ camoflage on the Merlins, Cessna 337 etc.
The only P-3s I have never seen are the Portugese ones.
I assume the Chipmunks are re-engined with Lycomings?

Nice pix. Thanks.
Great (50th Anniversary of the 103 Squadron) paint scheme on the Alphajet. I’m surprised to see the 337 still in service – looks in good shape too.

Yes have to agree with Anna.. very nice. Those DHC-1’s look especially fetching in those markings.
