Visited a Spitfire today and they wouldn't let me sit in it!

Hello,payed a visit to the Spitfire in The Hanley museum after hearing about it on the radio the other day.Quite often shop in the area but never gave the Spitfire a second thought! Will visit more often when I’m in Hanley.First time that I have posted pics on here and would you believe that due to old age I forgot to set a low ASA no on the camera hence the grainy pics.I was told that the plane is being restored by a local volunteers, as can be seen there are quite a few parts off the plane at the moment.I can see why the ex pilot was not allowed to sit in it as it seems that the cockpit area is devoid of equipment.Regards David.
