Two new jets will appear at VladivostokAir Company in the early
2005. VladivostokAir is still the only aircompany in Russia that
is really interested in purchasing Tu-204-300 jets. Now they are holding talks on the possibility to purchase Tu-204-300 jets through financial leasing. The jets are produced by a joint venture companyAvaistar.
By the way, today, there is only one jet in operation still
undergoing tests. VladivostokAir has already started to pay off
the first two jets purchase, thus in fact, paying for
certification. The two jets will cost 70 mln USD.

If the manufacturers offered aircraft with only two flight crew Aeroflot would have rejected them in the past and current Russian airlines would have rejected them for the same reason.
Having a flight engineer on board to speak english on international flights and translate from metric to imperial measures isn’t a bad thing.
