Did you guys (especially the Dutch ones) hear about the accident that happened yesterday, on the Dutch Vlieland shooting range. A German Tornado was practicing cannon firing on the range and hit the control tower instead of the target. The rounds went right through the tower.
The same thing happened a few years ago. I believe it was a Danish F-16 which was practicing shooting unguided rockets and hit the control tower. I believe the radar was locked on target but lost the target and re-acquired when the pilot wasn’t looking.
The same guy was on duty in the control tower on both occassions. Imagine being shot at by mistake twice in one career! What are the odds!
