VLS for jiangweiII?!

cant really beleive it, and it doesnt look like a PS, but it appears that the one of the PLAN’s old jiangweiIIs is getting a revolver VLS system like those on the 170 DDGs.

i cant think of what else those round objects can be (too tightly placed for MLRS placements). but the hull of the jiangweiIIs surely wont allow for instelation of HHQ9s, so could this be a VLS verson of a smaller SAM?

but if it is a VLS for a smaller SAM, why arent the new 525s and 168s getting them first?

any ideas anyone?

Does the turret greatly affect RCS ? I see the ship itself is non stealthy but the upgraded turrets are all of the new type. is it the standard PLAN turret now ?

Affect the RCS? To be honest, to the active seeker of an inbound AShM, or an airborne surface search radar, I doubt it.

Looks like an upgrade of some kind. New missiles, new turret to fill the holes.

I love this… LOL

As soon as there a pic of a Chinese warship with clear deck space and suspicious objects, everyone suspects VLS.

The ship in the foreground is a JIANGWEI I, the one to the rear, is the II. The circular spots are probably just where the gun and the HQ-61 SAM used to be fixed to the deck. Not sure what they could be doing with this ship though.

Just looks like where the old gun and sam mounts use to be.
