VMFA-235 picture query

Does anyone know when this picture was taken and why it was staged?
Was it taken to mark the departure and impending retirement of VMFA-235s F-4Ss in early 1989 or is it to mark another occasion?, I’ve tried the Flypast forum and the best they’ve come up with so far is that its an advert for Nikon cameras!:7 , so I hope you guys can help.
