VS A340 configs?

Hi all,

Returned from a excellent two week holiday in Hawaii, I will post my trip report and a few pics up tommorow, but I just wanted to ask if anyone else has recently flown with Virgin Atlantic on one of their Airbus A340-600’s which has their new seating configuration?

On our outbound LHR-LAX flight, we flew on Cover Girl (G-VOGE) which currently has the old config and it was great – even though we were travelling in economy!

However, on the return sector LAX-LHR, we flew on Soul Sister (G-VBLU) which has their new seating config, and I cant think of a word to better word to describe it than ‘awful’ to describe it to be honest. The seats were really uncomfortable, and seat pitch did not seem as good as the outbound, so I was not able to strech my legs or get much sleep at all, and the seat-back TV’s were useless when the person in front reclined their seat as the image quality detoriated.

Virgin strike me as an airline that spends lots of money on their seating configurations, but have they really got the comfort of economy passengers in mind when they decide what to do, or are they more interested in looking after the people travelling in ‘premium economy’ or ‘Upper Class’ and forgetting about the rest of us?

Has anyone else had a similar experience?
