Vueling and Clickair to merge

I believe this has been on the cards for some time hasn’t it…?

http://www.travelmole.com/stories/1129845.php?mpnlog=1&m_id=_rnms~s~T_

Am not surprised by the decision to merge these two airlines, but I am slightly surprised that they have opted to keep the ‘Vueling’ brand name instead of ‘Clickair’ by the sounds of things?

I was out on holidays. I got back and got really scared about the composition of shareholders, and the guy managing the new freaky idea. 🙁

So what do I have over here. Ryanair, Ryanair….and the new Spanish monster carving everything FR gets 🙁

I will exile to the UK 🙂

They have hundreds of reduplicated airports and destinations. They simply want to keep only 19 planes. The rest Iberia, to destinations where there are no competence, and can put crazy fares as in the domestic market, or even in Europe.

STOP IB, STOP CLICKAIR VUELING MERGER

Well, Clickair is like the Troy Horse. Aimed to get out Vueling of the market by IB, they did it. Merge, and Iberia as main shareholder, and the competence tribunal will not say anything. Please, feel sorry for us. fares has just jumped up in a scandalous way and most airports NO COMPETENCE.

Clickair is so impopular, since everybody know it´s a kind of hybrid monsters from Iberia, that they prefered to keep VUELING brand. In Spain is friendly, popular and efficient. Their intention is keep FR and Easyjet out of the Spanish market.

Of course I will not fly the new filthy thing, despite my local airport doesn´t have much option. Say day for Spain.

Well eventually it should just be LGW? As im sure the start of Clickair on the London routes was to take over the Iberia routes that are not MAD or BCN, and when IB need the slots at LHR, they move the Click flights to LGW…? Im sure someone will correct me….But with Vueling having a BCN base, i could see LGW-BCN being started too!

Does that mean i will finally get to see a Vueling plane at LGW!!!!

If it gets the thumbs up from the regulatory authorities, I would assume Vueling would serve both LHR and LGW as these airports are both served by Clickair currently!

It is strange with regards to the choice of name, ClickAir have a much “bigger” name in Spain and I expect more people have heard of ClickAir throughout Europe than have heard of Vueling.

After the merger is complete, where will they be in regards to the league of low cost airlines? Maybe the fourth largest in Europe after EZY, FR and AB?
