Vulcan at Eastbourne

Anyone have information why the Vulcan was flying over Eastbourne this afternoon. Was there a display taking place nearby, as I thought it had made it’s last flight?

Might have missed the two scheduled displays but fortunately managed to overfly Plemming house & along the Watercress line before turning south east towards the coast.

I saw Nick Mason’s example run a few times. Not bad for 1.5 litres

But this takes the prize for sound quality.

I have stood this close on warm up on a couple of occasions. Nothing has come close, not even a Merlin on full chat, for sending hairs on the back of the neck tingling

Agreed: have stood around these cars a great deal and felt the noise. But for sheer noise, the Mazda 787B is the loudest, and to my mind the most impressive. I thought my hearing might have been damaged at Le Mans in 1991 and even more so from recent meetings with the beast. But it’s a great way to go deaf.

It did a number of air to air photo shoots on route South, including one along the coast between Brighton and Eastbourne, before having to scrub the money earning missions for displays at Goodwood and Old Sarum, due to a fuel leak.

You’ve obviously never heard the BRM V16 then!

I’m glad I got to see the Vulcan at Eastbourne and Clacton. It’s turned out that quite a few people have missed out
on seeing her for the last time, for one reason or another.

Many thanks, your link gives me the answer, – Goodwood Revival, and it probably outdid all the noise of the cars!

Why was this I wonder ?
Not the weather I would have thought, it’s been a beautiful day here in Essex.

Fuel leak apparently ?
